Productbeschrijving

The C4 Sub mk2 is a new 12" active subwoofer for the Hi-Fi, AV and home cinema markets. It shares its styling with the 'Classic' and 'Tower' series loudspeakers. Its size & performance make it a natural partner to the SCM20, SCM40, SCM50 and SCM100. Multiple subs can be used in situations requiring higher sound pressure levels.

The C4 Sub MK2 is an all new design featuring ATC's first sub-bass driver, designed specifically to reproduce the lowest three octaves of the audio band. The SS75-314SC sub-bass driver is shown above and it's key features are:
1. New rubber roll-surround for high excursion capability.
2. New spider for increased excursion and featuring optimised compliance geometry.
3. 30mm magnetic gap & high-energy neodymium ring magnet deliver high force factor over +/-15mm range
4. High flow motor venting for low noise and compression.

Like all ATC loudspeaker systems, the driver is the key element to the system performance. It allows the sub to deliver an extended low-frequency response without employing electronic equalisation, quite unlike many subwoofers available today. Instead, the more elegant combination of exceptional transducer engineering and a marginally larger cabinet volume is used. The simplicity of this approach reduces phase shift and group delay, aiding the integration of the sub with the partnering loudspeakers.

ATC's electronic engineering team have delivered an all-new amplifier for the new subwoofer. The 300W class AB design is hand-built here at ATC and precisely optimised to the requirements of the drive unit, resulting in fast, dynamic bass with minimal colouration. Two balanced inputs provide connectivity suited to both stereo and multi-channel/immersive audio systems plus two balanced outputs provide connections to 'main' loudspeakers or to 'daisy-chain' multiple subs.
